BlackApature Privacy Policy
Last updated October 8, 2026
BlackApature is a private home security camera system. It runs on one computer in its owner's home and is used only by that household. It is not a public service, and it does not have users outside the household.
What BlackApature does with your Google account
With the account owner's permission, BlackApature uses the Google Drive API to keep an off-site copy of camera events, so the evidence survives if the computer is stolen or damaged.
- It asks only for the drive.file permission, which lets it see and change only the files it creates itself. It cannot see, open, change or delete any other file in your Google Drive.
- It uploads pictures and short video clips of camera events (people, vehicles and animals seen by the home's own cameras) into a folder named BlackApature in your own Google Drive.
- It removes its own copies after 30 days.
What it does not do
- It does not sell, share, or transfer any data to anyone. Copies go only to your own Google Drive.
- It does not show advertising and does not use analytics or tracking.
- It does not use data from Google APIs for anything other than this backup, and does not use it to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
BlackApature's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where your sign-in is kept
The Google sign-in is stored only on the household's own computer, in a file that only the system and its administrators can read. It is never sent anywhere except to Google. You can withdraw BlackApature's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions; the copies already in your Drive stay yours to keep or delete.
Changes and questions
